About Me
Hello, my name is Kate. I trained as a Nanny (NNEB – Distinction), have worked in childcare for over 18 years, and have been childminding in Portishead since October 2010. Jon and I have three children: our daughter born October 2009, and two sons born September 2011 and December 2013.
We live in Woodhill Road, a short walk from the Lake Grounds with its park and boating lake. We have a well equipped playroom with direct access to our secure garden.
I am Ofsted registered (reg no EY403310) and was graded GOOD when last inspected; CRB checked; have public liability insurance; have completed CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Home-Based Childcare; and have a Paediatric First Aid qualification.
I am passionate about providing a fun, happy and stimulating environment for children to develop, and use local free activities/resources as much as possible (childminding mornings on Wednesdays, story time at the library, stay and play at Portishead Youth Centre, etc) and we play outside as often as possible, weather permitting.
I have excellent references from previous employers, which are available on request.
My Experience
Since leaving college in 1995, I have worked for years as a sole charge Nanny caring for children from babies to teenagers for working families, staying with one family for over 6 years, and still retain contact with several of my charges.
Whilst nannying, I was editor of the Hampshire Nanny Scheme newsletter which brought Nannies together with charges of similar ages, when I lived in Southampton.
More recently, prior to starting my own family, I worked as a Children’s Support Officer for Shelter in Bristol, the housing charity.
